ALBA Calls for Crisis Debates

Prague - The countries member of the Bolivarian Alternatives of the Americas plus Ecuador demanded in Prague on Wednesday a deep and extensive debate over the world economic crisis.

ALBA lauded the strengthening of links between the EU and GRIO at the 14th Ministerial Conference of EU-G Rio, during which a Joint Declaration was adopted on Wednesday.

"We stress the importance of the exchange of ideas during the debates that took place in Prague, with commercial and economic cooperation and the use of renewable energy sources issues high on the agenda", ALBA countries say.

Venezuela, Bolivia, Honduras, Nicaragua and Cuba, plus Ecuador, expressed their concern over the economic and financial situation worldwide, in a communique distributed to media.

We ratify once more that the solutions for the global economic crisis must be taken in a collective and extensive debate, in which we all have the possibility to participate, as to ensure those solutions do not come from exclusion groups.

EU-G Rio Ministerial Conference in Prague has ended its sessions and will begin the encounters of EU Troika with Chile, Mexico, Central America and Mercosur.
