Drug Plane Crashes In Honduras

Tegucigalpa -  small plane carrying drugs has crashed on one of Honduras' Caribbean islands, killing one man and injuring two others.

Naval commander Rear Adm. Juan Pablo Rodriguez says the plane had apparently ran out of fuel on a dark, rainy night.

The plane registered in Venezuela was carrying around 3,300 pounds (1,500 kilograms) of cocaine when it crashed Sunday on Utila, one of the Bay Islands off Honduras' northern coast.

The plane was destroyed in the crash but did not catch fire. The pilot and co-pilot survived.

The flight was detected by U.S. anti-drug radar when it entered Honduran airspace. It was the third such incident in Honduras this year.
