Bus Fares Drop In Effect Today

Bus fares today drop between ¢10 and ¢360 colones on 712 routes around the country, as the bus fare drop of 5.13% approved by the Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep) takes effect today.

Some 1.5 million will take advantage of the reduction on 3.589 bus fares that was supposed have taken place last Friday, however, due to a delay in the publication of the La Gaceta delayed the reduction.

The Aresep said it took into account the price of fuel, salaries, the Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC) - consumer price index - and the devaluation of the Colon to adjust the fares.
