Free Gallo Pinto Tomorrow in Paseo Colón

Looking for a free breakfast? Well, tomorrow is your day, as everyone is invited for the "fiesta de Gallo Pinto" that will be held beginning at 9am on Paseo Colón.

Like last year, Paseo Colón will be completely closed off to traffic from the Sabana Park to the Scotiabank tower to make room for the dozens of stands that will be preparing the gallo pinto for the public to enjoy.

Companies like Tío Pelón (rice and bean producer) is donating a ton of rice and 1.3 tons of beans, and Maggi all the seasoning to make a tasty gallo pinto. Zarcero, which makes the required natilla and the Del Fogón for the tasty tortillas are also participants of the feast..

Organizers say the expect to serve some 50.000 "gallopintos".

Of course what would be a party without the bands and the clowns.

The mascarada de los Hermanos Martínez will be on hand to entertain and music provided by the banda municipal de Acosta. The dance group Oreamunense de la escuela Monseñor Sanabria will be on hand to spread the joy, as well as a variety of folklore groups with their presentations.
