Panamanian President to
Venezuela
Caracas - Panamanian President Martin Torrijos arrives in
Venezuela Tuesday to carry out a working agenda with his peer Hugo
Chavez, who will welcome him at the Miraflores Palace.
According to Panamanian official sources, this visit will foster
ties of friendship and cooperation between both countries.
Erich Rodriguez, secretary of State Communication, said Torrijos'
stay here is also a gesture of reciprocity to the visit of President
Chavez in 2006, wheen both leaders agreed to cooperate in the energy
and gas sectors.
The Venezuelan statesman attended in Panama at that time the
celebration of the 180th anniversary of the Amphictyonic Congress, a
first step for Latin American integration, sponsored by Simon
Bolivar in that country on June 22, 1826.
The Panamanian president visited Monday Bogota, where he met with
Colombian Head of State Alvaro Uribe. |
