Argentine Party for Mobilization
Buenos Aires - Argentine Partido Obrero (Workers Party)
called for mobilizations in all of Latin America on
Monday to repudiate the coup in Honduras against the
government of President Manuel Zelaya.
"The coup is not only against the people of
Honduras, but also against all the peoples of the
region," said PO National Committee member Nestor
Pitrola to Prensa Latina.
Pitrola added that the hand of US imperialism is
surely behind the coup in this Central American
country, and that the coup represents a threat for
the whole of Latin America.
PO will join a popular demonstration called Monday
afternoon here to repudiate the coup and denounce
the repression against workers and farmers of
Honduras.
Organizers highlighted the need to save the Central
American country from falling into neoliberalism,
repression and dependency once again, and demanded
the immediate restitution of Manuel Zelaya as
President of Honduras.
The call concluded by calling the Honduran people to
deepen the change process, replacing the coupist
sector of the Armed Forces. |
