Rise In Layoffs Expected For July and August
Economists consider that the critical months
in terms of unemployment in the country will
be in June, July and August.
The Master in Economics for the Universidad
Nacional, Carlos Arguedas, says that is the
period when firms make adjustments in
projections to the year-end.
Arguedas explained that the decline in
exports and domestic economic activity will
encourage the job cuts.
According to employment data recorded by the
Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS),
last April 5.300 jobs were cut.
