More Gas Price
Increases On The Way, ¢77 This Time
Get ready for another round of gasoline
price increases, as the Autoridad Reguladora
de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep) is
reviewing the latest request by the state
refinery, the Refinadora Costarricense de
Petroleo (RECOPE).
The submission was made on Friday, one day
before the latest round of price hikes that
took effect on Saturday, asking for a an
increase of ¢74 colones for a litre of
super, ¢77 for regular and ¢53 for diesel.
On Saturday the price of gasoline went up
¢40 for super, ¢37 for regular and ¢46 for
diesel, pushing the price to ¢492 for a
litre of super, ¢472 for regular and ¢400
for diesel.
When, not if, the request is approved the
price for a litre of super will jump to
¢566, for regular ¢549 and for diesel ¢¢453.
The price would take effect the middle of
July.
