AH1N1 Cases In
Costa Rica Climbs to 83
The ministerio de Salud yesterday confirmed
that the total infections of the AH1N1 has
reached 83, a number that has begun to worry
health officials.
The ministra de Salud, Maria Luisa Avila,
said yesterday that Ticos have let their
guard down, as many of the new cases are not
related to infections by people who have
been out of the country or those they have
come in contact with, but rather from within
the population.
Health authorities said the number of
suspected cases in the country reached
1,698, of which 1,506 had been dismissed and
107 were pending for diagnosis.
So far Costa Rica has reported one death
from the virus.
