Highway, Same Old Drivers
Although the newly reconstructed
autopista Prospero Fernandez (road
to Caldera) has a new road surface,
proper signage, bus bays, pedestrian
overpasses and lines on the
pavement, among others, the drivers
continue to be the same.
Our cameras caught this one driver
in full action 300 metres east of
the Piedades toll station, where
road officials have allowed a turn
around point, crossing the median to
from the westbound lanes to get onto
eastbound traffic.
During a half hour period between
4pm and 5pm Thursday, we saw at
least six vehicles do exactly the
same.
The fotos tell the whole story of
the danger of the stunt that was and
is still common on the highway where
