Independence Day Celebrated In Costa Rica

Colombians in Costa Rica are getting ready
for the big party to celebrate their
country's independence this Sunday, though
the official independence day is Monday,
July 20.
Organizers of the IV Fiesta Cultural
Colombiana are asking Colombian to bring
along at least one non Colombian friend to
the event that is being held at the Cenada,
on the carretera to Barreal de Heredia,
between 8am and 5pm.
The event is a "100% family event" and there
will be, in addition to traditional
Colombian music and food, something for
everyone, including clowns for the children.
The slogan for this year's event is "Costa
Rica With Heart".
It is estimated that some 10.000 Colombians
call Costa Rica their home, fleeing Colombia
receive protection and assistance in Costa
Rica.
