Two Insurance
Companies Waiting Approval To Compete With
INS
In addition to the Magisterio and the
Sociedad Aseguradora Mundial, two other
firms are may be giving the state insurer,
the Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS),
competition in the insurance market.
The Intendente de Seguros, Tomás Soley, has
confirmed that the Superintendencia de
Pensiones authorized last Friday the the
formation and operation of the first
insurers of foreign capital.
In addition the Banco de Costa Rica (BCR)
began offering insurance services of both
the INS and the Magisterio through its
Corredora de Seguros del Banco de Costa Rica
(BCR) - insurance broker services.
The BCR had been working for the last two
years to form a group of insurance
specialists.
