Earthquake Shakes Southern Peru
Lima - A strong earthquake
measuring 6.0 magnitude hit southern Peru early on
Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The quake struck at 1:12 a.m. local time (0612 GMT),
with an epicenter of 186.8 km deep, 59 km northwest
of the town of Juliaca and 781 km southeast of Lima,
the USGS said on its website.
No immediate report of damage or casualties has been
reported yet.
