Colombian Drug Dealers Arrested in Bolivia
La Paz - The Interior Minister of Bolivia, Alfredo Rada, confirmed Monday the arrest of five drug
dealers of Colombian nationality who tried to
operate in the Andean nation.
"Those criminals want to associate with Bolivian
drug dealers' clans to operate in secret areas," he
specified.
He told the press the foreigners were captured last
weekend in an operation in which they seized the
country'largest laboratory to produce cocaine, in
the eastern region of Chiquitanía (Santa Cruz).
The factory, he added, had a capacity to produce 100
kilograms of hydrochlorate of cocaine per day and 36
tons a year.
So far this year, the Special Force of Struggle
against Drug Traffic (FELCN) was able to dismantle
four factories of cocaine in the last month that, in
total, had capacity to produce 54 tons of drugs a
year.
Rada also questioned the efficiency of the Antidrug
Agency of United States (DEA) when he stated that
after the expulsion of this entity in September
2008, accused of conspiracy, the struggle against
drug traffic intensified, with better results.
