AH1N1 Deaths In Costa Rica Could Rise To Five

The number of AH1N1 deaths in Costa Rica could be elevated to five from the current three, as the ministerio de Salud has begun to investigate the death of two women dying from pneumonia, could actually be infected with the AH1N1.

Ana Morice, the viceministra de salud, confirmed the investigation and that one of the women was pregnant.

Morice said that the test results could be available today (Monday).

The latest ministerio de Salud report indicates that since April 24 they have investigated 3.571 cases, of which 2.872 have been discarded, while the rest has either being confirmed, suspected or is under investigation waiting results of the Instituto Costarricense de Investigación y Enseñanza en Nutrición y Salud laboratory.
