ICE May Have To Reimburse Customers

The SUTEL, the new telecommunications regulator, has opened an investigation into some 30 complaints about the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) overcharging customers.

The regular said it has set up a special committee to analyze the complaints and advice on sanctions against the state telecom, that could include ICE having to reimburse customers overcharged for no reason.

The SUTEL says that 95% of the complaints it has recevied since its inception in January is of people upset with ICE and the services it provides.
