ICE May Have
To Reimburse Customers
The SUTEL, the new telecommunications
regulator, has opened an investigation into
some 30 complaints about the Instituto
Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE)
overcharging customers.
The regular said it has set up a special
committee to analyze the complaints and
advice on sanctions against the state
telecom, that could include ICE having to
reimburse customers overcharged for no
reason.
The SUTEL says that 95% of the complaints it
has recevied since its inception in January
is of people upset with ICE and the services
it provides.
