Over 175,000 Colombians
Claim Compensation
Bogota - A total
of 175,199 Colombians
have claimed
compensation during the
last five months, as
victims of the armed
conflict, Presidential
Agency for Social Action
reported Tuesday.
The State of Antioquia
is the one with more
claims, with over 52,000
forms already presented.
On April 22, it came
into force a regulation
by which the program for
individual compensation
for damages was created,
to speed up that
process.
According to the
regulation, since August
15 and until April 22,
2010, Colombians who
consider having suffered
any damage as a result
of violence will have
the possibility of
claiming compensation
for damages, offered by
the State.
