Lusk Feared
The Strong Winds Minutes Before His Jump
Minutes before he took the fatal jump, Jeremy Lusk, told Karina
McDonald in an interview for the magazine, Profesión Valor, that he
was afraid to make his jump, concerned of the strong winds that were
blowing at the Ricardo Saprissa stadium on Saturday night.
Lusk suffered head and neck injuries and lost his battle to survive
at 12:30am on Tuesday, following his admission to the Calderón
Guardia hospital Saturday night.
"There is too much wind. For many reasons this is dangerous for us
and our tricks, but definitively I will make my attempt", Lusk told
the interviewer before making the jump.
Lusk's parents, Shuck and Gina Lusk, arrived at the Calderon at
12:20am. Conscious or not, Jeremy died at 12:30am, almost as if
waiting to see his parents for the last time before passing away.
The body of the 24 year old X-Nights competitor was flown to
California yesterday afternoon, according to Cameron Steele, a
spokesperson for the family and member of the "Metal Mulisha" team
of which Lusk was part of.
