Central American Health Ministers to Meet in
Nicaragua
Managua - Central American Health Ministers
will meet Tuesday in Nicaragua to tackle the
health situation and to agree on prevention
and mitigation actions to thwart a swine flu
outbreak among the nations of the area.
Rosario Murillo, Coordinator of the
Communication and Citizenship Council (CCC)
announced President Daniel Ortega talked on
Sunday with some of the Presidents of the
region to analyze the situation.
She reported Ortega told the social cabinet
to do their best in preventing Nicaraguans
from catching this influenza, which has
already left hundreds dead and many others
infected in Mexico and the US.
The government official also announced the
Nicaraguan leader will participate in the
Health Ministers meeting, seeking for tools
to help stop a swine flu outbreak in Central
America.
Commander Daniel Ortega summoned this
encounter with Health Ministers, considering
it as a necessary and indispensable step,
for the discussion and creation of
prevention, treatment and mitigation actions
to face this newly discovered influenza, she
stressed. |
