Quito - Ecuador on
Wednesday unveiled a plan to create 80,000
jobs in a bid to counter the impact of the
international financial crisis.
The "Anti-crisis National Strategy" will
include measures to boost small enterprises,
increase public investment to promote
production and efforts to ensure family
incomes.
The state budget will provide 14 million
U.S. dollars to fund the plan and another 10
million dollars from an external credit will
also be channeled for the measures to boost
employment.
The measures will see an average salary rise
of 8.33 percent. Bonus to families of low
incomes will also be increased to 35 dollars
from the current 30 dollars.
