Panama - Assessment of
the presidential candidate proposals by
Panamanian society is a current priority in
this country, with elections about a month
away.
Partido Revolucionario Democratico (PRD)
presidential candidate Balbina Herrera will
exchange on Tuesday with youth about
different issues of public interest.
The initiative is part of media work to
promote learning about the administration
plans of the candidates.
This kind of action is increasingly
important, considering the results of the
single public debate held between Herrera
and opposition member Ricardo Martinelli, of
Alianza por el Cambio party, where polls
showed the PRD presidential candidate as the
winner.
According to analysts, only 32 days before
the elections, intensification of the
activities by each candidate is expected.
The most recent survey by Ditcher and Neira
pollster, in the March 27-29 period, gave
Martinelli 51 percent of acceptance.
Herrera kept 35 percent of the voters'
support and Guillermo Endara, of Vanguardia
Moral de la Patria, won five percent.
The PRD candidate was the favorite in Colon
province, with an eight-percent advantage,
while the candidate for Alianza por el
Cambio party won in Los Santos, Veraguas,
Panama, Bocas del Toro, Chiriqui, Herrera
and Cocle. |
