Panamanians Nix US
Blockade on Cuba
SANTIAGO DE VERAGUAS -
The Central American and
Caribbean Meeting of
Solidarity with Cuba
condemned the US
blockade of the
Caribbean Island, which
participants described
as genocidal,
extraterritorial and
unfair.
At the closing session
of the forum, which
opened on September 26,
participants from a
dozen countries demanded
that the US government
end that aggressive
policy. They committed
themselves to
permanently denouncing
Washington's harassment
and hostile policy
against Cuba in their
countries.
Participants in the
meeting also approved a
resolution demanding the
release of five Cuban
antiterrorists held in
US prisons.
They recalled that in
contrast, world-known
murders like Luis Posada
Carriles, Orlando Bosch
and Guillermo Novo
Sampol are walking the
streets of Miami freely.
They urged to strengthen
the organizational work
by committees demanding
the release of Gerardo
Hernandez, Fernando
Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino,
Rene Gonzalez and
Antonio Guerrero.
The delegates condemned
terrorism "in all its
expressions, due to its
essence, criminal nature
and violation of
universal human rights."
They demanded that
Washington extradite
Posada Carriles
immediately to respond
to justice in the
countries where he has
pending trials. |
