Top Worries
The high cost of living
and the economy are
currently the most
worrisome issues for
Costa Ricans, at a time
when pessimism pervades,
independently of their
income status.
Close to half of the
people (44 percent)
think that way,
according to a Unimer
Research International
survey for the daily La
Nación.
Last March, the
corresponding figure was
28 percent.
In March, crime and
violence were at the top
of the list, but are now
the main source of worry
for only 16% of the
population.
According to the survey,
55 percent of the
respondents blame the
government, while 35
percent think the cause
is the high prices of
