ICE Brings Out The
Blackberry Today
Costa Rican executives
are expected to make
like at the newest of
the Instituto
Costarricende
Electricidad (ICE)
agency in Escazú today
to get their hands on
the Blackberry Curve and
Blackberry Pearl.
ICE will be distributing
the first 1.500 of the
smartphones to the
executive market.
Orlando Cascante, an ICE
spokesperson, said that
the Institucion can get
their hands on more if
the demand grows.
The smartphones were to
have been available last
week, however, due to
setbacks the cellular
phones arrived last week
and after a review and
testing, customers can
get connected beginning
today.
This is the first time
that ICE is offering
equipment with their
cellular service, in a
plan to gain experience
as it faces foreign
competition.
Once ICE has filled the
orders of those who
signed up for service,
the units will be
available to the general
public. Cascante said
that ICE has a contract
with Research in Motion
(RMI), the world
distributor for
Blackberry, to get as
many units at is
requires.
The Blackberry's sold by
ICE are fully enabled in
Costa Rica. The
BlackBerry smartphone
omes complete with
advanced phone features,
multimedia, digital
camera, video recording,
Wi-Fi capabilities,
expandable memory,
email, browser, text
messaging (SMS and MMS),
instant messaging,
organizer applications
and more.
