Weatherman Forecasts Rain, More Rain And Then Some For Today
The Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (the national weatherman) is predicting for today (Friday) lots of rain, rain and more rain, as "tropical wave" is expected to pass over Costa Rica today.

Although lots of rain in October is normal, meteorologist Evelyn Quirós explained that the "onda tropical" in Spanish is more severe than the normal rain for the season, today's starting in the Caribbean coast in the morning and sweeping across the country hitting the Pacific coast by early evening.

The weekend will see scattered showers and rain, rain and more rain, but no tropical wave, said Quirós.

The Comisión Nacional de Emergencias (CNE) - national emergency commission - is continuing the rebuilding of some 300 homes in the city of Cartago, east of San José, homes that were damaged by last weeks downpours of the area and overflowing of rivers and storm sewers.

Yesterday morning the roadway that links Acosta with Asserri on the south side of San José collapsed under the tremendous amount of rain during the previous days.

The rainy season is expected to end by mid November. October is the worst month of the six month rainy season.
