"Margarita"
Chosen as Latin American
Idol
Following a long battle
on the stage of "Latin
American Idol", the
winner of season 3 was
announced last night,
following a tense 120
minutes that ended with
the announcement of the
latest idol, Panama's
Margarita Henriquéz.
After the final count
was in, the majority of
Latin Americans voted
for Margarita, leaving
Costa Rica's María José
Castillo in second
place.
"No matter, she is still
a winner to us" was the
common chant from Costa
Ricans from all over San
José as the local
television stations
broadcast reports from
various different bars
in the city.
A few minutes before 9pm
local time, San José and
the rest of the country
became still as all eyes
were glued to the
nearest television of
the live event broadcast
from Argentina.
María José (right) and Margarita shared the stage up to
the deciding moment.
