Cows On Parade
Following a tuck
here and nip there, the
cows of the "Cow Parade"
got all dolled up for
the latest auction,
where a many found a new
home.
In total there were 120
cows taking part in the
Cow Parade and Wednesday
night auction held at
the Multiplaza in Escazú
saw a few of the cows go
for as much as us$5.000.
The cows of the Cow
Parade were on display
all around downtown San
José, along Avenida
Central, the Parque
Central, parque Nacional
and some even making it
to the suburbs, on
display in the walkways
of Multiplaza.
In total 55 cows found
new owners, between the
first auction on
September 3 and the
second on October 1,
while the remaining 65
will begin a country
wide tour to give all
Costa Ricans a first
hand glimpse of what the
cow fuss was all about.
The majority of the
proceeds from auction
will go towards social
programs like the
Foundation for the
Development of the
National Children’s
Hospital, Fundavida, and
Hogares Crea, among
others.
