Strong Russia Ties
Moscow - Cuban Foreign
Minister Felipe Perez
Roque on Wednesday
finished an official
4-day visit to Russia,
which corroborated a
reinforcement in
bilateral relations.
This was Perez Roque's
third official visit to
that country, amid
noticeable progress and
common efforts to
increase mutual links in
several fields.
Shortly before leaving
Moscow for Havana, the
minister expressed
satisfaction for having
brought a message of
friendship, gratitude,
and respect for the
Russian people.
The minister highlighted
he was particularly
satisfied with the
friendly welcome of the
Russian people, which he
said are as warm as the
Caribbean, despite the
low temperatures.
The talks with Russian
Foreign Minister Serguei
Lavrov corroborated the
mutual interest in
developing Cuba-Russia
links in a predictable,
permanent way, based on
consensus In key
international issues, he
indicated.
Perez Roque thanked
Russia for the
solidarity and
humanitarian aid to face
the considerable damage
caused by Hurricanes
Gustav and Ike on the
Island, and for the
Russian rejection in the
UN of the US blockade
against Cuba. |
