Interamericana Sur Closed Thursday and Friday
The Interamericana Sur (San Jose to the south) will be completely closed on Thursday and Friday in the area of kilometre 34 near La Cangreja, to repair flooding damage caused during the rainy season.

The Consejo Nacional de Vialidad (Conavi) announced the closure to make the repairs and is asking drivers headed for the southern zone and Pamana to seek out alternate routes.

For light vehicles, one route is the Desamparados-Tarbaca-La Fila-Río Conejo-Frailes-San Cristóbal Sur and La Sierra, that exits at kilometre 45 of the highway. A second alternate Desamparados-Tarbaca-La Fila-Río Conejo-Frailes and Los Santos in the sector known as El Empalme.

A third alternative that can be used by all vehicles is San José-Alajuela-Quepos-Dominical to Palmar Norte.
