Argentina Honors its
Cuba Graduates
Buenos Aires - The
Association of Relatives
of Argentinean Students
in Cuba (AFEAC) and the
Parliamentary Group of
Friendship with the
island honored Saturday
about 75 students
graduated in the
Caribbean country.
"We must firstly
expressed gratitude to
Cuba for being a home
and family, and turn our
students into better
human beings," Senator
Blanca Osuna,
representing the
legislative
organization, stated.
AFEAC president Andres
Atencio said that those
graduates saw their
dreams crowned with the
internationalism of a
country that carries out
a unique experience in
the world.
As part of the homage,
singer Ezequiel Romano
delighted the auditorium
with a folkloric music,
while Maria Florencia
Padilla, graduated in
medicine, said her life
changed in the island,
where "I stepped up
solidarity and praised
the importance in the
prevention of health and
life of fellow people.
Then, Education Minister
Juan Carlos Tedesco
greeted participants in
the event, and delivered
a recognition medal to
those graduates of the
fourth promotion of
Argentinean students at
the Latin American
School of Medicine
(ELAM) and the
International School of
Physical Education and
Sports.
Cuban ambassador Aramis
Fuentes stated at the
end of the activity that
about 6,254 students
from 30 countries have
been graduated in the
ELAM since 2005. |
