Ibero-Am Decries All
Forms of Terrorism
San Salvador -Terrorism
in all its forms was
firmly condemned by
heads of state and
government attending the
18th Ibero-American
Summit that concluded
its activities on Friday
in El Salvador.
In a special resolution
proposed by Cuba, the
presidents agreed to
take measures to
prevent, penalize and
eliminate funding and
training terrorists.
They also committed
themselves to not giving
shelter in its territory
to instigators,
perpetrators or
masterminds behind
terrorist acts, as well
as those participating
in that kind of
activities.
In the document approved
in a plenary session of
the summit, the leaders
called to prevent
impunity of perpetrators
of those actions and
asked for international
cooperation to find and
capture those
responsible for that
scourge.
We reject that the
responsible for the
Cubana airplane attack
in October, 1976 that
killed 73 innocent
civilians, has not been
tried yet, and we back
procedures for his
extradition to commit
him to trial.
Luis Posada Carriles,
the mastermind behind
that crime, is currently
protected by the US
government, which allows
him living safely in its
territory at present.
The resolution expresses
solidarity with victims
of terrorism in all its
forms and wherever they
have happened,
regardless of who those
involved are. |
