Panama Foreign Debt
Slightly Decreases
Panama's Foreign Debt
reported a US$77 million
fall at the end of April
compared to the same
month of 2007, said a
government report on
Tuesday.
According to a report
from the Public Credit
Management of the
Ministry of Economy and
Finance, that debt
registered US$ 8.19
billion in April this
year.
However, the source said
that the country's
public debt increased
US$ 10.69 billion in
April, an increase of
US$ 223 million compared
to December 2007.
Panamanian Finance
Minister Hector
Alexander told La Prensa
daily that the rise was
due to a strong
escalation in the
domestic debt, which
raised US$ 300 millions
in that period.
