Skin Cancer Prevention Day Attracts 1.500 Fearing Cancer
More than 1.500 lined up for hours to checked for cancer during skin cancer prevention day organized by the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS), held at the Hospital San Juan de Dios in San José.

The line began at 6am, may coming from distant parts of the country to have doctors check that blemish on their skin in fear of cancer.

Those who attended the prevention day program had to arm themselves with a lot of patience at waiting to see a doctor meant up to four and five hours.

Health authorities say that skin cancer has been on the rise in the last several years and recommend to be on the alert for any changes in the skin observed and get prompt medical attention.
