To Take Spanish Classes
The new United States
Ambassador to Costa
Rica, Peter Chianchette,
admitted yesterday
during a swearing in
ceremony that he had
forgotten most of the
Spanish he learned in
school and would be
taking Spanish lessons.
Chianchette said that he
took Spanish in school
in the 1980's and with
time lost it due to lack
of practice.
The new Ambassador said
that in addition to
Spanish classes he will
be studying Costa Rican
culture and history and
its traditions.
Chianchette said that
his main challenge in
his new job in Costa
Rica is the
implementation of the
Free Trade Agreement
between the two
countries.
