Traffic Accidents Kill
875 People In Peru In
2008
Lima - A total of 875
people were killed and
5,397 others injured in
traffic accidents from
Jan. 1 to Dec. 25, 2008
in Peru, the National
Police's Highway
Protection Unit said
Tuesday.
A total of 1,788 traffic
accidents happened
during this period, down
from 1,917 last year,
when 859 people were
killed and 5,466 others
injured.
Most of the accidents
this year took place on
the Pan American North
highway, Pan American
South,
Penetration-south,
Penetration-Center,
Penetration-north and
Central Highway, said
the unit.
Crashes, sliding-off and
running-over were among
the most common
accidents.
