Cold Kills More than 20
People in Mexico
Mexico City - Near 20
people have died in
Mexico because of the
drops of temperature of
the current winter
season, official reports
reported Monday.
In the states of
Coahuila, Chihuahua,
Durango, San Luis
Potosí, at the north of
this capital; and
Puebla, to the east, 17
died.
Most of the deaths,
according to medical
diagnoses were for
freezing or for
inhalation of carbon
monoxide, when trying to
light heaters that were
not working right or
because of rustic fires
to warm themselves.
Also, according to the
Ministry of Public
Security of the Federal
District, also in this
city, at the end of
October, a man lost his
life because of a
hypothermia square when
he was sleeping on the
street.
The temperatures have
arrived to less than 13
grades in municipalities
of Chihuahua, where it
was necessary to close
highways to avoid
accidents in the last
days.
For Monday, in the
northern, central and
western states of the
country the cold air
will prevail, in
accordance with
meteorological reports.
