6.000 Get Connected
On the first day of sale of the latest cellular telephone lines, 6.000 people were able to connect, according to the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) - state telecom - on the first day of sale of its 50.000 GSM cellular lines.

The lines at ICE were long, but everyone who was there had an appointment and it was just a matter of waiting before getting connected.

Unlike in the past, ICE will only connect customers who are on a waiting list and have been given a confirmation number. In the past, lines at ICE offices and agencies extended for blocks, in some cases, and many disappointments when it came to closing time, not making it throuhg the doors, only to do the same the next day.

Orlando Cascante, ICE's director de la División de Servicio al Cliente, said there were no problems reported yesterday, everything went smoothly.

Customers who had the confirmation number between 8209316 and 8214944 were served yesterday, today those with 8214945 to 8220329 will get their chance.
