Lottery Tomorrow Night
Tomorrow night a small
number will be instant
"millionaires" as the
Gordo Navideño lottery
draw for ¢3.5 billion
colones takes place. The
"gordo" frenzy began
this week and will
intensify today and
tomorrow as everyone
wants a piece that could
change their lives.
In downtown San José, as
well as every corner in
the country, vendors can
be heard shouting out
their numbers, numbers
to attract buyers.
The nunber 14 this years
seems to the most
favourite of downtown
buyers. Also the numbers
09, 10, 11, 19, 20, 21
and 41 are selling like
hotcakes.
Each "entero" or
complete ticket sells
for ¢32.000 colones and
pays out a grand prize
of ¢580 million colones.
A 'pedacito" or piece
sells for ¢800 colones
and pay out a grand
prize of ¢14.5 million
colones.
The Gordo Navideño draw
will be at 7pm in the
Parque Juan Santamaría,
en Alajuela and
broadcast live on
national television.
Sales of the Gordo
Navideño will be stopped
a few hours ahead of the
draw.
