More Good New For
Gasoline Prices As
Recope Requests Another
Price Drop
The state refinery,
Recope, offered Costa
Ricans a New Year's
gift, following the gift
that Santa brought
yesterday when gasoline
prices fell to levels of
three years ago.
Recope asked the
Autoridad Reguladora de
Servicios Publicos (Aresep)
for another drop in
gasoline prices, this
time ˘66 colones for a
litre of super and
regular gasolines and
˘98 for diesel.
When approved, a litre
of super gasoline would
sell for ˘422, regular
˘408 and diesel ˘414.
Yesterday, gasoline
prices fell ˘152 colones
for super, ˘150 for
regular and ˘87 for
diesel. A litre of super
sells now for ˘488,
regular ˘474 and diesel
˘522.
This is the first
consecutive drop Recope
has requested since the
price of crude oil on
international markets
began to fall from a
high of us$145 a barrel
to yesterday's close fo
us$46.28.
