President Luiz Inacio
Lula da Silva met with
Argentinean Federal
Planning Minister Julio
de Vido to discuss
bilateral relations and
integration.
Official sources
reported on the
Argentinean minister"s
visit to Brazil, during
which he met with top
government and Foreign
Ministry officials, and
executives from Empresa
Brasileña de Aeronáutica
S.A. (EMBRAER).
In statements to Telam
news agency, De Vido
said the meetings were
aimed at following up on
topics President Lula
and Cristina Fernandez
discussed in Buenos
Aires in early August.
He recalled that on that
occasion, they talked
about eventual
cooperation in the
aeronautical sector,
especially the
construction of an
EMBRAER plant in
Argentina to produce
parts, an issue he
discussed with the
company"s chairman,
Federico Fleury Curado.
Local media reported
that Argentina is
interested in acquiring
medium-range passenger
jets produced by EMBRAER
to renovate the fleet of
Aerolineas Argentinas
(AA).
De Vido also met with
the Civil House Chief
Dilma Roussef and Deputy
Foreign Minister Samuel
Pinheiro Guimaraes. |
