Solidarity with Cuba in
Nicaragua
Dozens of Nicaraguans
celebrated the 8th
National Meeting of
Solidarity with Cuba,
and affirmed the US
blockade is a genocide
practice against the
Cuban people.
The delegates endorsed
the Managua Declaration,
which highlights the
decision to defend "with
our solidarity the work
of the Cuban Revolution
as lighthouse and
example for the peoples
of America."
The document demands the
immediate release of the
five Cuban heroes
imprisoned in US jails,
condemns the anti-Cuba
policy, and calls for
justice in the case of
terrorist Luis Posada
Carriles.
The participants also
agreed on a plan of
activities for the fifty
anniversary of the
triumph of the
Revolution, the 55th
anniversary of the
attack on the Moncada
garrison, and the 80th
birth anniversary of
Ernesto Che Guevara.
Cuban Ambassador in
Nicaragua Luis Hernandez
thanked the Nicaraguan
people for its
solidarity in front of
"defamatory campaigns,
hostility, interference,
and aggressions by the
US imperialism."
He emphasized that
Nicaragua has also
rejected the human
rights violation of the
five Cuban prisoners,
"showing the US double
standard, and extremist
revanchism of the Cuban
mafia in Miami." |
