Nicaragua Plans Cuba
Solidarity
The Nicaraguan
Solidarity with Cuba
Coordinator meets today
to plan the 50th
celebration of strength,
struggles and victories
of the Cuban people
against the empire,
informed Edgardo Garcia,
president of the
organization.
About 300 delegates from
groups throughout the
nation will meet in the
capital to prepare
celebrations of the
January 1, 1959 victory,
Garcia said.
The groups are studying
how to express their
support against the
blockade and demand for
freedom of the Cuban
Five imprisoned in the
United States for
fighting terrorism, as
well as other issues.
"Through these
resolutions we are
developing a plan of
mobilization,
broadcasting and
sensitizing in favor of
the Cuban Revolution and
its battle," Garcia
said.
He also pointed out that
the meeting is in
preparation of a
regional conference of
solidarity with Cuba to
be held in Panama in
October.
Graduates from Cuba, the
Che Guevara Committee
and all Nicaraguans who
have had the marvelous
experience of sharing
this process of changes
and victories in the
Island, Garcia stressed,
will support
coordination. |
