Heat and Sun The Norm

According to the
Instituto Meteorológico
Nacional (IMN) -
national weather service
- the suffocating heat
that has been constant
since Thursday will
continue until Tuesday
in all parts of the
country.
It was so hot yesterday
that temperates in the
Central Valley soared
past 30 Celsius,
reaching 37 in Liberia
and 31 in Limón, all
several degrees above
normal.
The IMN says that a dry
system over Central
America does not allow
the development of rain
clouds from the early
morning heat and that
the afternoon clouds
trap the heat and keep
there into the night and
early morning.
The phenomenum is
expected to continue in
the Central Valley and
Guanacaste, mainly, and
push back the start of
an early rainy seaon a
few days.
The rainy season
typically begins the
middle of May, however,
due to the effects of La
Niña, the IMN had
predicted the rainy
season to start this
week.
The heavy rains of the
past two weeks felt like
the rainy season had
already begun. |
