Nicaragua Defends Iran's
N-plan
The Nicaraguan president
has stated before the UN
General Assembly that
Iran reserves the right
to use peaceful nuclear
technology.
Daniel Ortega criticized
US President George W.
Bush, saying the US is
in no position to
question the rights of
Iran or any other
country to pursue
nuclear technology for
peaceful purposes.
"The country that
possesses the greatest
nuclear arsenal in the
world, with what
authority do they
question the rights of
other countries to their
peaceful development?
What rights do other
countries that possess
nuclear weapons have to
do with this either?
What moral authority do
they have to question
the right of any people
to develop nuclear
energy for peaceful
purposes?" said Ortega.
Ortega added that the
capitalist and
imperialist minorities
feel free to say
whatever they want to
say. They allow
themselves to dismiss
Iran's peaceful nuclear
program as non-peaceful.
