reform project proposed
by Venezuelan President
Hugo Chavez is on a par
with governmental
efforts for real South
American integration.
Chavez' visit to the
Brazilian city of Manaos
this week gave a major
impulse to important
economic projects for
developing nations, such
as the Bank of the
South.
When talking with
Brazilian President Luiz
Inacio Lula da Silva,
the Venezuelan leader
said such a financial
institution represents
an indispensable
mechanism for regional
countries, particularly
at a time when
international stocks
markets are going
through a crisis.
