More Aid to Hurricane
Felix Victims in
Nicaragua
More humanitarian aid
continues arriving for
the thousand victims of
Hurricane Felix in
northeast Nicaragua on
Saturday, where central
authorities coordinate
recovery tasks with
native community
leaders.
The International Plan
organization, in charge
of boosting community
development, with
special assistance to
children, Saturday
announced the sending of
another 150 tons of
humanitarian supply to
the pounded areas.
According to the
representative of the
International Plan in
Nicaragua, Mariella
Greco, the organization
is currently supporting
1,134 families from nine
indigenous misquito
communities of the North
Atlantic Indigenous
Region, in which, she
warned, another 63
villages were damaged.
Meanwhile, the
Nicaraguan Army confirms
that over 2000 tons of
humanitarian aid was
sent to that region
after Hurricane Felix
hit it on September 4. |
