Victims Desperate
The lack of food,
drinking water and home
is the key point of the
tragedy thousand
Nicaraguan victims lives
today due Hurricane
Felix, which devastated
the country's
northeastern zone four
days ago.
Dozens of communities
from the North Atlantic
Autonomous Region are
still isolated, while
helicopters from the
Nicaraguan Air Force
can't cope with
supporting victims.
So far, the country has
official confirmed 53
dead, 105 missing
people, some 10,000
destroyed houses and
over 50,000 victims, but
the number of deceased
and affected persons
could surpass 100.
A Cuban medical brigade
in the zone before the
passing of the
hurricane, as part of
the collaboration
between both countries,
is giving medical care
