More Rain On The Way For
the Central Pacific
The low pressure system
responsible for the
constant rain of the
past few days that was
the cause of the
mudslide in Atenas and
flooding of some 800
homes in Parrita, on the
Pacific coast, south of
Jacó, seems to be
leaving but being
replaced by a tropical
wave.
The Comisión Nacional de
Emergencia (CNE) -
national emergency
commission - has called
a "red" alert for the
Quepos, Atenas, Parrtia
and the central area of
the Puntareans province.
The constant rain has
filled the rivers, some
of them like the Parrita
river has overflowed its
banks and has left
hundreds living in
shelters.
Parrita was under water yesterday as the
Parrita river overflowed its banks.
