Strike Imminent
Leaders of the owners of
public buses in Panama
said Thursday that a
national strike may
begin tomorrow due to
the excessive price of
diesel, which is
expected to increase
even more in the next
few hours.
President of the
National Transportation
Chamber (Canatra)
explained that about
7,000 buses were
provided with fuel
before the start of the
new price increase and
they will run until they
use it up.
Canatra estimates the
strike will be launched
on Friday, unless the
government finds a
solution to the problem
of the price of diesel
which, in their opinion,
makes the service
unaffordable. |
