Venezuela Builds $2.4
Million Hospital in
Nicaragua
The Venezuelan
government is building a
medical diagnostic
center worth some us$2.4
million that is to
provide free service in
a hospital-school, said
the Nicaraguan Ministry
of Health.
The centre will have
magnetic resonance
equipment, CAT scan
equipment, X-ray
equipment, telecommand,
ultrasound units,
gastrointestinal
endoscopy units,
audiometers, and
electromyography
equipment worth
approximately us$2
million, said Melvin
Agurcia, director of the
hospital-school Antonio
Lenín Fonseca. The
center will be built at
a cost of us$400,000, AP
reported.
Further, Venezuela is
delivering to Nicaragua
a second ship carrying
humanitarian aid for
200,000 victims of Felix
hurricane, said
Venezuelan Ambassador to
Managua Miguel Gómez.
In November, Venezuela
sent 1,000 tons of
humanitarian aid to
